Well, think about it: the North Vietnamese were not able to break Lt. Commander J. McCain, notwithstanding that they imprisoned him in the Hanoi Hilton and did unspeakable things to him (things that the liberals of the day thought were entirely deserved). If that cannot break the human spirit, then why on Earth should anyone other than a fool give in to the pisant attempts by our latter-day fascists to break us? And the fact of the matter is, no, they aren't going after things simply for revenue, but their little beast from the Book of Revelations cannot live without tax revenues, and therefore one of the surest ways to kill it is to starve it of revenues by not engaging in any activities that would generate large amounts of tax revenue for the beast.

Don't set up strawmen, it ain't worth the effort, and there are much more important things we should be focusing our energy on.

Yes they were. They broke most everyone they held, as all of them would admit. But they did not permanently break their spirits. Look at the photos of the returning POWs. They came back with their heads helf high. (And they got to enjoy the reactions of their captors during the Famous (infamous to the left) Christmas Bombings.)

their little beast from the Book of Revelations cannot live without tax revenues,

As far as I can tell, the ChiComs don't seem to mind subsidizing the Beast.
