Spending time with your children is nontaxable. I'll leave to others to argue whether it's enjoyable (I personally find it quite enjoyable). Conversation in person is also nontaxable - and can be quite enjoyable when it involves political subversion against the reigning liberal fascists - anyone want a soapbox in Hyde park?

Besides which, there is no such thing as a pain-free activity while liberals are around - the point is, no matter how much they tax greens fees at public golf-courses, they will never be able to raise as much tax revenue as they would have been able to raise by taxing you if you were engaged in your customary income-producing activities (i.e., your work - whether it be an employment position for wages or your own business), and thus engaging in activities such as golf instead of being an entrepreneurial go-getter will help in the struggle to starve the beast of the tax revenues that are its life-blood.

They don’t seem to be all that interested in raising revenue. They’d follow the Reagan example if they were. No, they want to “discourage” some activites, and encourage others. They want to break the middle class most of all.
