Elections have consequences, just look at what happened on Sunday. Do you think for one second that we would be facing the massive effort that repealing or defunding this monster would even be an issue if we had elected McCain? Do I like him, no do I believe him to be a conservative, sort of and a damn sight better than the Obamanator.

But, maybe we can all just give up and say that elections just don’t matter whine whine whine. I’ve heard it a million times and I’m sick of it.

Politics is moving the ball down the field. It doesn’t always mean that you throw a touchdown, or kick a field goal, it’s about getting there as quickly, or slowly as it takes to get into the endzone.

Social Security for all the fact that it’s a ponzi scheme and financially it is bankrupt was not passed like ObamaCare. It had solid bi-partisan majorities and was a popular program. This doesn’t mean that I don’t agree with you in principle, but we’ve got a shot a repealing HCR.

if we had elected McCain?

I know that you're not talking to me, but I think that - ultimately - we'd have been worse off under McCain. For instance, with the stimulus, the Dems would have started at 1200 Billion, then McCain would have negotiated them down to "only" 700 Billion....

And everyone on FR would have said "Phew, it's a good thing that we've got a Republican in the White House. Or else things would be REALLY bad."

More-or-less, I think that things would have played out roughly the same under McCain. Although, honestly, I don't know what McCain would have done with HealthCare. And, I'll readily admit that I voted for him. At the time, I thought that he was a better candidate than Obama. But hindsight is always 20-20, and ultimately over the long run, the US might be better off with throwing all the bums out in the next couple of elections (something that's a distinct possibility) rather than just continuing the business-as-usual slow burn under 4 or 8 more years of McCain.

I think though, that anyone who says "Yep, I saw this playing out exactly as it has, and THAT'S why I voted against McCain in the elections." .....is full of it. :-)
