I believe when all of the Catholic Church’s positions in the US are stood end-to-end, the Pope would run as a Democrat.

Outstanding! Could not have said it better myself. When their Pro Life plea on Obamacare did not make it’s first audible peep at my church until 1PM Sunday, I knew it was all just an effort at CYA damage control.
On balance they’d rather have “social justice” than live babies.
