The use fasces by the House of Representatives pre-dates the Fascist ideology. It was a reference, popular in the early 18th century, to the principles of ancient Roman republicanism. By your screen name you should be know that the Roman Republic was founded when they expelled King Tarquin the Proud and created a republic based upon annually elected co-counsels, a senate and assemblies of the people.

Notwithstanding another reply you got about the Roman fasces, please note they have been on the US dime since the design was changed 60 years ago to put FDR on it.
