The president cannot override congressional legislation with an executive order.
Stupak knows that. He may think he’s pulling one over on the voters, but he’s not fooling God. And that’s the one he needs to worry about answering to.
The way things have gone, I want to hear Stupak explain it.
If true and an Executive Order is to be used, I would think that in itself would be challenged in court and might kill this bill.
Otherwise, we now have the line item veto (more making up the rules as we go).
This “president” can do anything he wants to do. And the “Stupaks” in congress have been threatened with something much more frightening that a lost election.
That is first semester law school stuff. You are right. An EO can’t overrule explicitly passed legislation. This fig leaf is more like a g string. If yhis report is true then stupak should have this legislation hung around his neck (after he is tarred and feathered)!
