Following reports yesterday that black and openly gay Democratic lawmakers were subjected to spitting and epithets from anti-health care reform protesters outside the Capitol, Republican leaders said Sunday that such incidents were "isolated" and "reprehensible."
On CNN's "State of the Union," Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) denounced the use of such slurs "in the strongest terms possible."
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that the "isolated incidents" were "reprehensible."
Later on the same program, Michael Steele, the Republican National Committee's first black chairman, agreed that the incidents were "reprehensible," and added, "we do not support that."

And the Repubs believe the LIES of the Socialist WHY?
So, where is the proof that anyone yelled a racial slur?
I saw videos and heard no racial slurs...sounds like typical democrats lying again. Why does anyone take their word for anything by this point?
There were no incidents, you morons. The whole thing was manufactured before the first protesters even showed up.
Idiots.
Exactly.
Why are these Repubs so spineless? What a bunch of wimps!!
Why denounce something that probably never happened? Why not denounce accusations (with out proof)?
“Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) denounced the use of such slurs “in the strongest terms possible.””
Pence might be the stupidest Republican. He fell for this trick. Also, he fell for the Bush’s comprehensive immigration scam, thinking there was really a public movement for it, falling for the agitprop, and offering his own plan, really a plan written by cheaper labor interests, and felt himself presidential material.
In fact, the Democrats probably looked for Pence on this on purpose. They knew he would fall for it.
If there were any slurs, it was probably libs doing it. Of course, the spineless party immediately apologizes.
And the maroons fall for it and qualify it for a response.
Or are they anti tea party just as the dim's are?
And people here think Repubs will REPEAL this bill?
That is hilarious.
It is about time we stop depending on pols in DC for anything whatsoever.
He needed to qualify that with a big IF, and also a promise to look into the incidents.
Scratch Mike Pence off the list for higher office.
Idiot.
So, even if someone did say something (not at all proven), no one should be trying to spread blame to a group of several million nationwide. What reckless, irresponsible stereotyping that is.
I'm sure all the leftist in the US agree, they've condemned stereotyping so often in the past.
You better believe the mainstream media is playing these lies about racially charged taunts as the number one story of the day. The GOP needs to do better reconnaissance before playing into the Democrat/media take on what really happened.
Okay, when I wade through the protestors I want you to spit on me.
You still got the rebel flag and the hat that says "The South shall rise again?"
