The romance languages use "simpatico" in a different sense as well.

Do you use "Word Web," a free download which pops up a dictionary definition of any word you right-click on while you depress the control key? Makes you look real smart and you don't have to turn a hair.

I just looked up "empathy" and "sympathy" and got some nuanced differences. Try it if you don't have it.
