Hawaii lawmakers want President Barack Obama to build his presidential library in the state of his birth.
Two resolutions before the 2010 Hawaii Legislature, House Concurrent Resolution 174 and House Resolution 109, urge Obama to select Hawaii.
The resolutions read, in part, It is a matter of great state pride that President Obama is the first Hawaii-born citizen to hold that high office ... a presidential library in Hawaii would provide the people of Hawaii with access to the documents and artifacts of the Obama administration and a significant piece of our nations history.
Obama is a former state senator and U.S. senator from Illinois with a home in Chicago. But he graduated from Punahou School in Honolulu and he and his family often vacation in Hawaii.
The House resolutions are supported by most of the Democrat-controlled House but also several Republican members.

Uh let's see. They can have a room dedicated to selling his two biographies by Bill Ayers. A room dedicated to his chi-town associates. The Reverend Wright memorial chapel - complete with bongo drums and turbans. A reproduction of the Larry Sinclair limo, etc etc

They can have it. We’re already stuck with Clinton’s library. Two on one continent is a bit much.

They can have the library if they fork over a certain birth certificate.

It should also house a collection of Michelle's weird belts and itty bitty too-small sweaters (does she steal them from the daughters?) and of course, those $500 sneakers she wore to the soup kitchen...

Great! Then we can finally see his academic records, his travels before becoming Present and his Long Form Birth Certificate, found among his mother’s belongings and mused about in his book “Dreams of My Father”.

Well, start picking a spot. We plan for him to be ready to start working on his presidential library in less than three years, in early 2013.
