Seriously? 40k were there? I was watching FNC and it looked like about 5k - 10k. I guess they were all spread out.
We eyeballed the scene from Grants Memorial,and estimated the crowd would fill the US Naval Academy football stadium which is about 40K. But not the Penn State football stadium at 75K! Too bad, another 50,000 folks would have been awesome.
Even if we misoverestimated by double, there were at LEAST 20,000 people there and that was at about 2PM, after hours of speeches.
