I read a lot of alternative med. docs. Finally decided on Dr. Julian Whitaker's vitamin/minerals and his COQ10. He is an MD who practiced standard med. for some time but did not like that drs. were/are being taught to just write a prescription for every new sysptom. He felt some very good alternative treatments that have been proven had been tossed.He has had a Wellness Clinic in Newport Beach, CA for 30 years and has developed his own supplements. I recently mentioned we had started taking Dr. Whitaker's supplements, and a neuro surgeon's wife sitting at the table said her mother started taking his Eye Essentials and they reduced her cataracts to the point her opthalmologist was amazed.--unsolicited commercial I welcomed.

Whitaker and several others warn that although everything listed on the bottle may very well be in the tablet/capsule, it is not necessarily getting into you system at full dose because of shortcuts used in either the raw products or the delivery process. COQ10 is one esp. to watch. Several have said COQ10 with Ubiquinol in a jell cap goes directly to cellular level and is utilized in full strength. Another to watch is E--be sure it has d-alpha (natural) instead of dl-alpha (synthetic). My husband's brother-in-law had all the by-passes he could have several years ago. He has been told there is nothing else to do for him--his hesrt is shot; his lungs are shot; and now his liver is going. He takes an awful number of pills including a heavy statin. His drs have not even told him to take fish oil and a vitamin. My husband's cardiologist believes in vitamins and esp. fish oil.

They tried statins on me and my husband. We both got leg cramps and he also had nose bleed often. We just told our doc we aren't taking them.
