I thought so also, but unfortunately, it doesn’t always happen that way.
They can keep tabs on your liver and such with 6 months or yearly test.
Any problems can be caught if you have these done.
Under 0Care I doubt that tests will continue.
But, I don’t know what he has in store. Just a guess.
Don’t say that!
I have been taking Lipitor for years. If I don’t my #s hit 600. Yeah I know. I have to have tests ever 4 months. It is amazing how one test off of Lipitor is so high and 4 months later on Lipitor they are in the very low 200s.
Haven’t tried crestor. afraid to NOT take Lip.
Be well and happy.
My doc gave me three months to lower it. Its at 144. My HDL is too low. He also said to take vitamin D - 1000/day.
YES, tell your doctor about anything unusual. Cramps, pain, etc. Anything different. You can be in charge. Ask to try something else. I did.
All statins have the same side effects, that is why I don’t take them.
He was not amused."
Mine wasn't either; doing fine on diet(old fashioned oats), exercise and not worrying about it. It the sweet by and by I'll be there...
Not saying the others are not good. Just find the one that fits you.
They put me on Crestor after the operation. It was not a generic.
I asked what the difference was between Crestor and the others.
He said Crestor was more up to date and worked more efficiently.
Not in those exact words. That convinced me to stay on it awhile
and pay the cost. My diabetic husband has done great on Zocor.
Oatmeal, walking, watching my diet. Good multi viatimins, etc.
Keeping a good attitude altho since the maoist was elected it’s been hard to keep the stress levels down.
This is old news, folks. They’re talking about rhabdomyolysis, which is where your muscles can begin to breakdown, ache, and cause renal failure. It’s pretty rare.
If you’re on a lot of meds, it might be a wise move to consider crestor (rosuvastatin). It’s the cleanest of the statins with the fewest interactions with other meds.
Yep ever individual is different. What works for one may not be right for another.
You can get peripheral neuropathy from statin drugs....
I took this stuff and my muscles were SOOOOO sore. We switched to Crestor.
I have a dear Aunt who was just recently diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, she had been on Lipitor for less than a year. Her symptoms started out as leg cramps and dizziness, and was wrongly diagnosed w/ restless leg syndrome. She has always been a very energetic, hard worker, but she has been unable to even drive herself for the past few weeks...and will probably never recover fully.
Whitaker and several others warn that although everything listed on the bottle may very well be in the tablet/capsule, it is not necessarily getting into you system at full dose because of shortcuts used in either the raw products or the delivery process. COQ10 is one esp. to watch. Several have said COQ10 with Ubiquinol in a jell cap goes directly to cellular level and is utilized in full strength. Another to watch is E--be sure it has d-alpha (natural) instead of dl-alpha (synthetic). My husband's brother-in-law had all the by-passes he could have several years ago. He has been told there is nothing else to do for him--his hesrt is shot; his lungs are shot; and now his liver is going. He takes an awful number of pills including a heavy statin. His drs have not even told him to take fish oil and a vitamin. My husband's cardiologist believes in vitamins and esp. fish oil.
They tried statins on me and my husband. We both got leg cramps and he also had nose bleed often. We just told our doc we aren't taking them.

I make it a point to express my dismay at the direction he’s taking this country and not a single person has disagreed.
One person did say that all this unemployment is Bush’s fault, but she’s a member of the NEA and can’t help herself. So brainwashed, poor thing.
