Remember Kemp/Roth? I realize complex politics can be confusing for the uneducated but the country's real problem right now is obviously economic.
It seems your problem might be conceptually understanding socialism versus capitalism. The two systems are diametrically opposed... so different in fact that wars, hot and cold have been fought over the difference.
