I had a couple of heart surgeries over a 2-month period. I was in a lot of pain, and took 2 Vicodin every 4 hours.
I asked my doc what the chances were I would get addicted to it and he said it would take more than a couple of months for that to happen.
I did not become addicted to it.
My BIL inlaw (now deceased) was very addicted — as many as 500 in a month, could not take over two days of rehab... I work for a doctor and we get a lot of patients in seeking Vicodin specifically..
