To be fair with all the Cherokee grandmas, a lot of them really did have the blood but can't trace it because in those days the light skinned ones hid the fact of their Indian blood as society really looked down on them and it hurt them socially. So as those elders died the grand kids did not even know they had the blood and some knew but could not prove it. To register in a tribe one has to have some pretty darn good proof of their family line. Aloha FH
