"Rep. Earl Pomeroy, a North Dakota Democrat - is apparently undecided on his vote. To my understanding, undecided currently means "What have you done for me lately?" and not "Is this for the good of the American People as a whole". In the "not so surprising transparent back room dealings", Representative Earl Pomeroy has secured a tidy little money making deal for his state - the entire United States Federal Student Loan Program. "
"According to a Wall Street Journal piece from September 12th, 2009 titled "The Quietest Trillion" - about $100 Billion per year. For a single "Yea" vote. It seems that holding out for the best deal might just pay off for Mr. Pomeroy. Imagine those early-in-the-game "undecideds" that are kicking themselves right now for settling for $100 - $400 million."

this country is for sale...just ask any congressman
John Hoevan needs to jump all over this turd.
These Sellouts should/will be first against the wall if/when the Revolution comes.
How soon until the Chinese decide to start trading debt for land and congressional approval of the transfer of american land to become soverign Chinses soil.
Right now the Chinese could start taking over islands in the Pacific liberated from the Japanese in WWII, without even firing a shot!
Imagine the congresscritters tryign to cut such a deal and touting as a way to get out of debt with the chinese, all while borrowing more money from the Chinese to pay for their other buyoff schemes of other congress critters.
Gives me chills thinking about it.
I am curious as to how the people of North Dakota are reacting to this. We were livid here about Nelson’s Cornhusker kickback deal.
The GOP Senate should make good on their promise. "The entire United States Federal Student Loan Program" won't be going to his state.
The 1944 ITALIAN El Duce way would be much more impressive to future wannabes.

Why settle? Who says they’ll honor the agreement once they get your signature?
It was Coburn who stated that any deals made by democrats with the White House for their vote will be thwarted in the Senate. Even if this story is accurate it will be interesting to see if and how they plan to follow through.
According to Obama, all of the states will now receive the same deal. Multipled by 50, I calculate that it is 5 trillion dollars.
