More than 80 Stage program students graduated March 17 during the first annual Stage ceremony held at Kabul University.

Stage, which began in May 2009, is a 9-month program conducted at the Independent National Legal Training Center. The purpose of the center is to raise the standards of legal professionalism in Afghanistan and enhance the legal knowledge of attorneys, judges and other law practitioners.

Rozbe Jawedan, one of 71 male graduates, said the Stage program was very effective and opened up the opportunity to learn about practical issues.

“For those already working as lawyers and for law students, we should never be content to say ‘it’s enough’ [regarding Afghanistan’s development],” Jawedan said.

As a law graduate, Jawedan believes society needs laws to set things in order within Afghanistan.

Dr. Wadir Safi, INLTC executive director, gave the opening remarks during the ceremony and praised the graduates for their hard work.

The director also thanked the international community for their contributions to the center.

“I would like to give thanks to the Italian government for their financial support in the construction of this building,” said Safi. “I would also like to thank the United States government for providing us with furniture.”

Safi also expressed his gratitude toward the governments of Canada, Egypt and France for their contributions to the center.

The Stage program admits prior graduates of either law or shari’a (Islamic law) faculties. Students are admitted after passing a competitive written exam. The program is taught by a 17-member faculty and ends with a mock trial presentation prior to graduation.

Meanwhile American Combat Units shy on actual Combat Marines and Solders are busy Sandbagging their precarious positions on the sides of some mountain or next to some Afgan poophole er village while young Jihadis glare at them.

Living in mud on MREs because the resources needed from Combat Engineers to build their positions and the extra Combat troops and Marines to lighten the load spend their day guarding Captain Skippy and friends..

Combat Engineers are busy however working feverishly to make sure there’s plenty of hot water and power in order that the JAGA$$es look good when they teach the Afgan Students about Western Law in an Islamic State.

Look for Combat Veteran Lawyers to begin running for Elected Office soon.

Stephen King could not write a better horror story that the one playing out and being lived everyday by our Soldiers and Marines at the hands of America’s Faux Generals for whom Victory is not an option.
