The Slaughter rule does two things simultaneously:
1) Sends Senate bill to Obama for signature into law
2) Sends reconciliation bill to Senate for its passage
Obama must sign the Senate bill into law before the Senate can pass the House reconciliation bill, which would then go to Obama to sign into law.
Thanks - That’s what I thought - but all this new discussion of “Senate changes” to the so called “House fix” had me confused
....and if Obama does sign the Senate bill, but does not sign the reconciliation...?
