The military has become one big jobs program. We are totally dependent on our tech and small special forces units to get the real work done.

Care to elaborate? So 11B is not important because it's not SF. Half the National Guard from my state is in Iraq right now. They'd rather be home. Which MOSs do you want to eliminate to get rid of the "jobs program?"

I didn't go into the National Guard because I needed a job. It has seriously hurt my career. I joined to serve, as did most of the guys who went to BCT with me. I get emails from the former libs who joined. They have a new outlook on life and it's one that emphasizes service, not "free jobs."

Our military is currently severely underfunded and understaffed.
