OH, I truly dislike Schussel. Especially considering how much I adore Steven Crowder (I run the Crowder video ping list- let me know if you want on it), she ticked me off BIG TIME with what she said about him. And I was quite skeptical of this until I went to the article and read the tax returns.
That’s the clincher for me, the amount paid to ‘consultants’ and such? If it costs $5,000,000 to put on a concert just to raise $1,000,000 in charity, you’re doing something wrong or it just ain’t worth it! That’s a lot of money that people could be spending on their own family’s charities locally. That’s my biggest gripe. Hannity annoys the crap out of me, Schussell is a dimwit who is jealous of Sarah Palin. But it doesn’t change a thing if this charity is just a front to make some folks wealthier or get some nice kingly treatment for lending their name to it.
I like Crowder but I love Zo. And I loved it when they teamed up. That vid was funny.
First off autumnraine, you are assuming that the $1,000,000 profit from the concerts is the only benefit they receive. It is not, it brings awareness and other donations throughout the year. You are also trying to interpret a tax statement through the eyes of the person who is lying about the whole thing.
For instance, she does not relate that Freedom Alliance has several programs...one which includes flying family members overseas to visit wounded service men and women. This probably is quite a bit of the private plane rentals and travel in general. I know my niece is a part of the Freedom Concerts and travels by plane and car from site to site...in completely normal fashion that one would expect.
This is a wonderful organization that has the highest rating on money disbursement from the independent, Charity Navigator Rating organization which rates the Freedom Alliance four out of four stars. They show about 80% of all monies spent go to program expenses, that is very good. Here is the link:
