Haaretz correspondents warn Obama its counterproductive to attack Netanyahu

Snippits, article at source

A few pointers for the Obama administration on the diplomatic crisis with Israel:

1. I don't support Netanyahu...

2. As far as anyone can tell, Netanyahu was unaware of the Regional Planning Council's decision...

3. It is fair to assume that the Obama administration made a calculated decision to attack Netanyahu, based partly on the presumption of support from the Israeli public...

4. Attempts to imply that Israeli policy is endangering the lives of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan, and even Iraq, verge on an insult to the intelligence - U.S. citizens particualrly...

5. But perhaps what is most important is this: Palestinians see the Obama administration's decision to attack Israel as an invitation to adopt a more confrontational line...

6. In other words, it is time to tone down the rhetoric...

7. And as for you, Netanyahu? Do us all a favor and cancel the building in Ramat Shlomo...

The One can't even get the support of Israel's far left. Good job boosting Israeli support for Obama Joe. The violence was a nice bonus.

Oh, my goodness, Netanyahu did not know of the pending approval of some apartments for Jews? How silly of him. Does Obama know of the planned apartment construction in beautiful downtown SOMEWHERE, USA?
There are issues for the Head of State and there are issues for the local Zoning Board. Is Obama being kept up on the planned apartment complex in East Nowhere, USA? Sort of doubtful
The apartment issue is merely the excuse OF THE MOMENT for the continued vilification of Israel, which is in the sad position of having TWO strikes against it...being a DEMOCRACY and “trying” to be an ally of the United States.
I think the THIRD strike could be and will be Israel’s insistence on preserving it’s own existence.
There is only a single act that Israel could accomplish that would satisfy the world...to go “out of business” and vanish from the planet.

“Do us all a favor and cancel the building project in Remat Shlomo”

Sure. The owners, people who invested money, the people planning to live there, and the Arab construction workers hoping to work on the project will all thank you./s Also, send Joe Biden a doggy bag full of Hawaiian pork, in an unrefrigerated container by way of Madagascar.
