I answered the first question and mailed it back. What is so complicated that it takes hundreds or thousands of words?
Yup. The article was written by a moron for morons.
What a timely post. I just got mine and was trying to figure out what was necessary and what was not.
Glaringly, if it’s being used to calculate federal representation, illegals are in this count.
The note included said it also goes to allocating funds for schools and roads. Can’t figure out how whether I own my home, my name, my gender, my race have anything at all to do with that. I have no kids in public school, so age doesn’t seem to be of any significance. (And I can’t find anywhere in my copy of the Constitution about the federal government funding schools. Post roads, yes. Schools, no.)
It also said they wouldn’t share the info. That made me wonder if school funding is coming from the census bureau? Seems like, if the information is going to be of any use at all it will need to be shared.
When you get right down to it, headcount seems to be the only pertinent question.
I think I’m feeling just ornery enough toward my government these days to be a minimally cooperative as possible.
