Yes, I believe Specter is making a power play here. He has lost all support from the conservative base. He wants to be reelected, and by leveling these serious accusations, I believe Specters thinks we’ll see him as one whose going against the Obama administration.
With all that’s happening with ObamaCare, and the presidents dropping popularity, Specter, in my view, is trying to give us the impression that he’s not one of “them”.
It’s too late. Despite this fact, I do not doubt some of Specter’s accusations.
Specter, I think, is trying to regain some credibility (never had any but he thinks he did) and distance himself from the zero administration because he’s losing to Toomey.
I also think the zero administration promised him a clear playing field if he would switch and now Sestak won’t play ball so Specter is taking it out on the administration.
