It’s not that there are no journalists willing to do these kinds of stories. The problem is that the major networks, NY Times, AP etc...those we group as “the MSM”...aren’t willing to do them. I believe the root of this unwillingness is twofold.
First, they agree with the aims of the Obama admin. They think the way of the world should be government “fixing” all ills. This is the main reason they don’t investigate many stories - they just don’t see them as problematic issues to be investigated.
Second, they are afraid of losing connections and access. This is the main reason they don’t dig into stories on the Obama admin with the same zeal they would have on the Bush admin.
If any one of them wanted to boost sales / viewership, all they would have to do is treat Obama and his admin like they treated Bush and his. Viewers / readers would FLOCK to them.
The way they see politics is very corrupt. They see no problems with paying bribes to get what they want. In the socialist or communist world, paying bribes is standard operating procedure.
But, if they see a bribe committed by a republican, they see it as a hypocritical action, as Republicans condemn it.
They then feel free to condemn and demand justice.
Much like the Adultery theme, they can do it because they approve of it. We can not do it because we disapprove it.
Spitzer went down not for taking bribes or breaking laws. He went down because of Hypocrical activity .... prosecuting hookers while patronizing hookers. If he never prosecuted hookers, he would have been given a pass in NY for patronizing them.
Drudge needs this up on his site.
