I’m sure the greater Filipino populace would disagree with Mr. Hanks.

Amen. My Filipino friends have stories about the Japs that are just horrible. And, they too have to deal with generational memory about this, as the commies keep trying to take over the Phillipines using Al-qaeda front groups.

My father-in-law, as a young Filipino child during WW2, was hung by his ankles and beaten unconscious in an attempt to get information out of him - info he didn’t have to give.

I guess it would shock Tom Hanks to learn it was the JAPANESE who did this to him, and not imperialistic Americans!

Not to mention the South Koreans.

Japanese would force women to become sex slaves. If they caught a disease or became pregnant, or just pissed someone off they would shove a rifle inside them and pull the trigger.

I guess thats because of US racism.
