Universal may end up on the financial cutting floor if they keep backing dogs. (apologies to dogs everywhere)True. This is similar to what happened to MGM in the '70s. MGM just kept making more bad movies than good, though not overtly political ones. Political movies are invariably bad (see An American Carol) and failing to make entertaining movies is the doom of a studio.

That is what I don’t understand. Do these execs allow themelves to be driven to bad decisions, by some high priced actor. I mean it is the public they should be thinking about. But in that rarified air bad decisions get made. Mayer and Goldman wouldn't be outsmarted.
