Math and biology is an exact science. 2 +2 is always 4.
Unless the scientists get gubmint cheese and grant money, in which case they will cook the books and tell you that 2 + 2 means we are all going to die in a great big ball of fire unless you give us billions of dollars to save you from global warming/cooling/climate change/re runs of American Idol or anything else bad.

I see your point. I guess 2+2=4 100% of the time. Given the same tax rate increase to the same economic structure, you will see an X% decrease in production with a variance of Y%. I still think the analogy holds, with some tweaking.
