It was Bush and Cheney, with the aid of Rove’s propaganda campaign, who promoted sketchy and often suspect intelligence about Saddam’s imminent “mushroom clouds.” The ensuing Iraq war allowed those who did attack us on 9/11 to regroup in Afghanistan and beyond — and emboldened Iran, an adversary with an actual nuclear program....

Progressives are very hypocritical on this point. So Obama isn't responsible for what he "inherited" a year and a half into his term but Bush is responsible for what he "inherited" from Clinton within his first 9 months.

I'm guessing what follows must be just as asinine. I couldn't get past this.
Rich wants so hard to lose in Iraq and to have the public see that domestic anti-terrorist activities are completely unnecessary, he can taste it. But Obama is boxed in. Obama has to win the war in Iraq or it’s a disaster for the left. Obama has to prevent a major terrorist attack. Both of those boxes really piss Rich off.
Rich knows Obama is one of his good guys and that a good guy is going to have to do almost everything Dick Cheney would have done. And there’s nothing Rich can do about it except rant. The alternative is electoral disaster for the “good guys. “
And, Rich gets even madder when someone holds the left’s feet to the fire on these issues. Sort of, “If the media would just stop covering this stuff, Obama could get on with losing the war.” Liz floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.

The Kenyan is one domestic terrorist attack away from doom.
