Yep. She and her father, as well as her husband, were liberal activists who, 30+ years ago, worked to throw the evil white imperialists out of prosperous Rhodesia and turn the former "breadbasket of Africa" over to its "rightful owners.

Buckle’s father was an activist lawyer in Rhodesia. Frankly, I don’t remember where I first read about Buckle’s background (it’s been many years) but Clive may know more about it than I do. He posted Cathy’s letters for several years here.
