Washington Examiner ^ | March 13, 2010 | Byron York

Posted on 03/13/2010 5:25:30 AM PST by gusopol3

At Friday's White House briefing, press secretary Robert Gibbs was asked, for the fifth time in less than three weeks, about Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak's charge that the White House offered Sestak a high-ranking job if Sestak would drop his challenge to Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania. And for the fifth time, Gibbs refused to answer the question of whether the White House offered a bribe to protect the fortunes of a key political ally.

This gang makes the Nixon WH and Watergate seem tame by comparison.

I guess if the offer came from the president, it would be an impeachable offense. Just one of many.

How long will the Sestak Stonewall continue?

How long has the New Black Panther stonewall continued?

As long as the Dems control Congress, there will be no official investigations with subpeona power that might just get somewhere.

Just before the September 15, 2008, implosion of the McCain campaign, one of the developing themes was to be the contrast between Palin’s efforts to clean up her own party cronyism in Alaska to Obama’s lack of effort, let alone success,in Chicago or Illinois; the spin up to that point had been that he “hadn’t been sullied” by cesspool Chicago politics.

And for the fifth time, Gibbs refused to answer the question of whether the White House offered a bribe to protect the fortunes of a key political ally.

According to Brett Baier last evening, it was at least the seventh time the White House was asked the question. Gibbs looked even dorkier than usual responding (or non-responding) in a hockey jersey.

I realize he was wearing the jersey as "payment" for an Olympic bet, but he still looked ridiculous.

The Dems can run Sleestak and the Repubs can run Chaka. After all.....we're pretty much in The Land of the Lost.

Yes it was a big deal. Besides, Barry's a much bigger stain on the country than on a blue dress.

This cesspool is due for a thorough draining. Illinois is so rank with every kind of political corruption that all of us who have to endure the machine here know exactly how Rahm and his boss play politics.

To them, this IS business as usual. Our impeached Gov (Rod “the hair”) is actually going on the offensive with this kind of sleaze and claiming that as his defense, that this is how politics works in Chi-town and he was simply trying to get the best deal for the citizens of Illinois! His is also accusing Rahm of working with him to try to put our Attorney General in that spot. She happens to be the daughter of the Speaker of the Illinois House.

It’s a cabal and Bam is as deep in it as anyone else.

"Snarlin Arlen" - the gift that keeps on taking from the current political party of temporary choice. It will be interesting to see how long Press Lackey Gibbs can dance around this before the rest of the shark pool FINALLY decides that the blood scent is too strong to ignore.

I really like Major Garrett in this role of inquisitor, he reminds me of Sam Donaldson and I will bet that the White House is starting to chafe. My personal prediction is that Gibbs will be gone in 2011 which I consider to be a reasonably safe bet.
