Looks like you had an encounter with a few fringe dumb@sses who could ruin a perfectly good cause...

William Gheen and Co. ARE the few fringe idiots. Just a couple of nobodies from NC - my state - who have gone nationwide.

If you took a second to look through my posting history you would see that I am conservative.

If you took a second to investigate John Tanton, the founder of FAIR and other groups, you would find out about his radical leftist agenda.

Look, no one likes to hear bad things about a group they consider an ally. But it's worth your time to look into it more deeply.

What you have been doing in your last few posts is presenting a Straw Man Argument or fallacy. Not a good way to endear yourself

Here is an appropriate response to such a fallacy.

...Just because FAIR and ZPG has a certain position doesn't necessarily means it applies to ALIPAC...If you have an organization like this you are liable to attract a few nutcases, from both sides of the aisle.

Btw...Do you know where the McCain campaign got their talking points from????

A liberal rat board called the Phoenix New Times.

After looking into some of Chichton’s claims, I can’t put myself fully into the “he’s a troll” category.

This post ended up being much larger then I originally intended but after doing the most cursory looking into Zero Population Growth/Population Control - I found it was important to quote from their site to show how radical they are. Btw, spelling errors and grammar is all theirs, I’m copying directly from the site.

Chichton, I’ve got to say is correct on this point - John Tanton is a vocal supporter of Population Connection. Further investigation, IMO is warranted.

I went and checked out John Tanton and see on his own bio he touts having been a board member of Zero Population Growth now called Population Connection.

Tanton’s bio here - http://www.johntanton.org/

Aside from his connection and involvement with groups I personally consider leftists and extremists, Sierra Club, etc; I didn’t find anything specifically extreme on his site except for his support and affiliation with Population Control. I did not read all of his letters dating back over a decade though.

I did however find from Population Connection very radical views; views I could not support and find highly unethical and immoral.

Their top Action Alert is preventing the passage of the Stupack Amendment - they believe women should have full access to government funded abortion, birth control and sterilization.

Their second Action Alert is to deny any funding for abstinence funded education.

Action alerts can be linked from the main webpage http://www.populationconnection.org/site/PageServer

They have also infiltrated our schools and educate teachers on how to teach children that population growth in unsustainable and destroying the plant (reminds me of the global warning scare) - the only solution to save the planet is to limit the number of children a woman has through birth control, sterilization and abortion.

From their about section http://www.populationconnection.org/site/PageServer?pagename=about_us

Since 1968, Population Connection (formerly Zero Population Growth or ZPG) has been America’s voice for population stabilization.

We are the largest grassroots population organization in the United States, with over 30,000 individual members (donors); 45,000 email activists; and 450 volunteer teacher trainers who bring our workshops to 12,000 teachers each year. We educate young people about unsustainable population growth through K-12 lesson plans that reach 3 million students a year. We inform constituents across the country about their congressional representitives’ stances on population growth and family planning. And we work directly with Congress and the White House to inform family planning policy.

The global population has grown from 3.5 billion when ZPG was founded, to 6.9 billion today. Population growth rates have fallen around the world because of the success of voluntary family planning programs. But the global fertility rate is 2.6—still higher than the “replacement level” of 2.1 children per woman. At this rate, the world’s population will grow to 11 billion by 2050.

Population Connection works to ensure that every woman around the world who wants to limit her childbearing has access to the health services and contraceptive supplies she needs in order to do so. Typically, when woman have access to affordable birth control, they have fewer children, regardless of income or educational levels.

Three main goals of the group

Protecting the Planet
Nearly 80 million people are added to the earth’s population each year. Reducing the rate of population growth eases the many pressures people place on natural resources, wildlife habitats, and the atmosphere.

Defending Women’s Rights
At least 200 million women around the world would like to delay or end childbearing but have no access to contraception. Family planning improves maternal and infant health and allows women to be more active in society.

Ensuring Social Justice
The 50 poorest countries on earth are also those with the highest fertility rates. Rapid population growth hinders progress on all Millennium Development Goals. Voluntary family planning improves everyone’s quality of life.

Populaion Control believe the US should lead the way and finance population control for the entire world and work with congress to establish this goal.

http://www.populationconnection.org/site/PageServer?pagename=issues_defendingwomensrts

Population Connection works with Congress to ensure that the United States is doing everything in its power to help women become empowered, active members of their communities. From fighting to end federal funding for failed abstinence-only sex education programs in the U.S., to urging Congress to appropriate $1 billion for international family planning, Population Connection stands behind women’s right to make the best choices for themselves and their families.

They do claim to only believe in voluntary population control measures - from www.populationconnection.org/site/DocServer/FAQ_MASTER.doc?docID=601

16. What is the most effective family planning policy? Population Connection firmly believes that only voluntary family planning programs are effective and sustainable. Coercive measures, which include forced abortions, sterilizations, and sex selection, are unethical, immoral, and unacceptable. The most effective family planning programs give men and women the freedom to choose the size and spacing of their family.

Population Control dedicates a large portion of their site to educating children (indoctrination IMO) to their view that controlling population, abortions etc are moral and jut policies designed to save our fragile planet. Once again we have a leftist organization targeting our children to their way of thinking even when it goes against the teachings of their parents or their religious beliefs.
