Not necessarily. I think he just tells it the way he thinks it will sell. The man appears to have absolutely no abiding or sincere political beliefs.
For example, if Tom Hanks and/or Pres. Øbama should poll exceptionally well tonight, then tomorrow morning Imus would be acting the role of a flaming leftwinger.
That being said, few in the business can do a more skillful interview. I wish it had been Imus rather than Glenn Beck who interviewed Massa the other night on FNC!
Imus has always been pretty open about that. He has always said that his purpose is the relish in the pain of others. A lot of people choose to not believe him when he says that—and then they are surprised when he does JUST that.
I think his morning show is one of the more honest and watchable morning shows out there. F&F has gone from decent, to boring and predictable. And that was the best of what is out there.
