Lesbian teen sues to force school to hold prom

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- A lesbian student who wanted to take her girlfriend to her senior prom is asking a federal judge to force her Mississippi school district to reinstate the dance it canceled.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi on Thursday filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Oxford on behalf of 18-year-old Constance McMillen, who said she faced some unhappy classmates after the Itawamba County School District said it wouldn't host the April 2 prom.
"Somebody said, 'Thanks for ruining my senior year,'" McMillen said of her reluctant return Thursday to Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton.

Can the Feds force a high school to hold a prom? Just shows you what Leftists will do when their ideas are rejected. They either directly use force or obtain a hired gun to do the job.

Silly girl. There is no law anywhere that a school has to provide an extra circular activity like a prom. Many schools nationwide do not offer them anymore and it is parents who put them on privately. perhpas her parents should move her to another school before everyone hates her?

I had some gay friends go to our prom. They went together, but their official dates were friends of the opposite sex. Worked out well, all had a good time.
I think cases like this are just about people playing the victim card, and looking to push their social agenda.
