The change to the cadillac tax is an example of something that will likely be deemed acceptable as a reconciliation measure — except that reconciliation is supposed to reduce the deficit, and this change by itself increases the deficit.

What exactly do they not understand? There can be no changes to the Senate bill before they pass it. it has to pass as is, no changes at all!

The trouble (one among thousands) with this “fix” is that CBO will now score “less revenue raised,” because the tax only kicks in at a higher amount.

ObamaCare was never “revenue neutral” ANYway, but now it’ll be even less so.

Ah, I knew some kind of “news” would come out after Zero’s meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus yesterday.

Are the House dims doing ping pong? 0bama cannot sign a bill into law unless the House and Senate bills are the same. I would think that this changed House bill would have to go back to the Senate and then get at least 50 votes plus Biden using receoncilation (which is still problematic for non budget issues) to go through.
What a joke if a healthcare bill emanating from the House and different from the Senate version actually lands on zero’s desk to sign. The thing would clearly and obviously violate the constitutional process. Is this their plan?
