I've pretty much said the same thing a number of times here on FR and been immediately savaged for it. Politics is sometimes about 2 steps forward and 1 step back. Progress is often made in small implements. I had to hold my nose and vote for John McCain in 2008. I even gave him money. This was painful, but the thought of Obama winning turned my stomach. You are right, there are no perfect candidates. If we could resurrect Thomas Jefferson from the dead and run him again, many here would be savaging him for the Louisiana Purchase.

Romney attacked the McCain Palin ticket through surrogates
to throw Election2008. He cannot profit from that on this planet.

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR ROMNEY ON ANY TICKET.

And neither with millions upon millions of Americans.

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++8 to 10 pts. in some polls, days prior to the election.
So rather than helping the GOP, poor loser “I am Myth” Romney and
