Can someone help me with a response to accusations made to me by a liberal today?
This person says that they want health care and want to be able to purchase the same health care that senators have. Says that private insurance industry has let them down and they are uninsurable. They don’t want to be limited to private insurance and want a public option. This person is in favor of some kind of public option that would give them and their employees a chance to purchase health insurance.
Also, this person is claiming that THEY are paying for the healthcare that teachers, administrators, public utility workers and government workers get. Said that workers, like utility workers, are feeding from the “public trough”. This lib says that that is “discrimination”.
They said they would much rather spend their tax dollars on environmental issues and a plan for health insurance and preventative health care. Hates it that their tax dollars go to “Halliburton and the military industrial complex.” And also, “If helping people is socialism then so be it. I actually thought helping people was the Christian, Jewish, Muslim thing to do.” To that I say yes, helping people is the Christian thing to do, but that doesn’t mean it’s the government’s job!
They are also accusing Bush of outspending Obama and that it was Bush who got us into this mess. Yea, one of the “blame Bush” idiots, but where do you begin to educate someone like this? I didn’t like some of Bush’s spending either, but to blame this entire financial crisis on one man is dishonest and downright stupid.
Now I know some of you will say just ignore this person, but honestly, I don’t want to. I’m sick of the distortions, lies, and stupidity spouted by liberals.
If anyone has any advice or good links to some facts I could use, I’d sure appreciate your help.
I should add that this liberal has absolutely NO respect for our military and has told me before that there is never a good excuse for war. Yea, we’re talkin’ about a card-carrying leftist with an arrogant attitude to boot.
