Let's see... The author of the bizarre solution to avoid a direct vote in the House of Representatives on the Senate ObamaCare bill is Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. Yet, to call it a "Slaughter Solution" is somehow an unfair Republican tactic. Such is the assertion of Brian Montopoli at the CBS Political Hotsheet:
The Republican Party already has plenty of evocative phrases with which to hammer the health care reform effort: "Government takeover," "ram down our throats," "job-killing monstrosity."
Now House Republican Leader John Boehner's office has come up with perhaps the most striking entry yet: "Slaughter Solution."

Her name is unfair! That is unfair!
Why do they even need this? I recall Nan saying yesterday that she has the votes.
Excellent analysis, PJ!
Cindie
is the “louise liquidation” any better ?
“Unfair” is the libs favorite word.
It’s what they said about life before they discovered the word “sucks”.
I sent info on this to Fox News and contacted several members of the House.
If you can’t defend the principle, attack the word.
I like the obamacare graphic, but perhaps the staff with the snakes should be replaced with a long hypodermic needle approaching the back of a baby’s head.
That would be more in keeping with the spirit of government run deathcare.

What a retard!
Let every voter know who she is and what she is recommending and let her name be synonymous with "Benedict Arnold".
Burn this into peoples' memories as a warning as what will happen to other traitors in the future.
Wait ... calling a Congressional procedure a moniker derived from the name of the member instigating is unfair, but thinking up some way to end-around the Constitution, pass legislation which does not receive an actual vote, no problem with this for the presstitute??!!
Just getting all alynski on them for a change.
Hey CBS, why are you calling it “reconciliation” now, but when the Repubs had the majority you called it the “nuclear option.”
Nope, to biased reporting out of these folks.
Did Brian get upset when people were called 'Teabaggers'?!
Before coming to CBS News, he covered press coverage of the 2004 campaign for Columbia Journalism Review.
Montopoli has contributed to The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Slate, Salon, Legal Affairs and The Washington Monthly. He has appeared on National Public Radio, “This American Life” and MSNBC. He lives in Brooklyn, New York

Code Red - House Target List on Health Care
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obamas announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the fixer bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

On the Bubble (Major developments from the yes and no columns in the House)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2467046/posts
San Fran Nan likes to repeat the old saw: “We will pass comprehensive and quality health care reform for all Americans”. Let’s take a look at the current numbers shall we?
Obamacare passed the House in November 220-215. Four ‘Yes’ vote democrats have left the House and the lone Republican to vote for Obamacare, Cao (R-LA) is voting ‘No’.
So as it stands, today, if the the vote were held and everyone voted the same as they did in November, Obamacare would fail to pass 216 ‘No’ to 215 ‘Yes’. 216 is required for passage.
San Fran Nan needs to hold ALL of her ‘Yes’ votes from November AND flip ONE MORE vote from ‘No’ to ‘Yes’.
The problem is there is NOT ONE ‘No’ vote who has definitively stated they were flipping to ‘Yes’. NOT ONE.
On the other hand, there are THREE BLOCKS of ‘Yes’ votes that are threatening to flip their vote to ‘No’: Bart Stupak and his pro-life Democrat coalition, Progressives who are DEMANDING a public option and can’t quite figure out why Obama has morphed into a corporate centrist in bed with Wall Street, Big Pharma and the insurance companies, and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus which is objecting to the ban on illegal aliens being able to participate in Obamacare with their own money.
Any one of the three could bolt and bring anywhere from 5 to 15 ‘No’ votes to the Floor of the House effectively killing Obamacare.
What is transpiring is a classic prisoner’s dilemna for killing Obamacare. Here is why that is true:
Whichever faction of Democrats gets out in front and under the kleig lights and in front of a bank of cameras, shaking angry fists and denouncing the ‘sellout’ which is the Senate bill, will reap a political goldmine with their own constituencies.
The two other factions that dawdle and are not aggressive at killing Obamacare will reap nothing politically for Obamacare dying in the House.
The two factions that are not proactive in killing Obamacare will be caught snoozing, and in this political game, to snooze is to lose.
It’s dead Jim.
