Everyone gets all excited about throwing these guys out. Yeah, that will teach them... and Obama will tap Harry Reid for a key, highly paid position in the newly created healthcare administration. Or, worst case, poor old Harry will be a highly paid lobbyist.

Boy, that will fix him good!

I firmly believe that is why they brought Tom Daschle up to the Hill last spring to testify in an Armani suit. See, life can be pretty good after Congress if you play your cards right...

PLEASE CALL! DC OFFICE LOCAL OFFICE State District

Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

I don’t know, NV people may be as “reconciled” to Reid as the SF people are to their dear Pelosi. People don’t understand politics.

No, GWB told them in January 2001 to turn the other cheek, and they have been doing it since.

I know people in Vegas, they loath Reid. They blame Obama for the lost of jobs in their city and state. Right on the tail of the loath meter is Reid. Unless there is massive voter fraud, Ried’s toast.

Personally, I think this helps House Democrats who are looking for political cover to vote no. They can now say that they liked portions of the bill, but didn’t think that the process was fair and they voted against it.

Yes, I wrote that to try and sum up the fundamental difference between liberalism and conservatism.

A liberal wants to help people. I have no problem with that in principle. If a liberal wishes to donate to the poor, I applaud them! They COULD form voluntary, private organizations to donate their money in whatever amount they wish to whoever they wish. Yet, they don’t do that. Instead, they demand that you, me and everyone else donate to their causes.

A conservative also wants to help people. That typically starts with helping their immediate families, but conservatives also donate extensively to private charitable organizations. We don’t FORCE other people to pay for our charity. That’s a very important difference!

On the one hand, you have people (statists) who want to use the full coercive power of the federal government to force others to donate to their favorite charities. On the other hand, you have people (conservatives) who demand only the right to use their property as they deem best.

Once you open the door to federally mandated charity, there’s no end to it, because there will always be someone with their hand out. Even means testing doesn’t solve the fundamental problem. Every time you give a dollar to someone, you have to forcibly take it away from someone else. That’s a violation of a fundamental principle of this nation, where we have a God-given right to private property.

I’m not talking about taking private property for a public use. Of course government has the right to collect taxes to pay for national defense and other public uses. But if you expand “public use” to mean “public purpose,” as in anything a government official thinks is OK, you have violated a founding principle of this country. Essentially, they can seize whatever they want for whatever they want, and you are no longer free.

That takes me back to my original point. Liberals DEMAND that we sacrifice our freedom for their causes. People could argue forever about the worthiness of their cause, but that misses the point! Liberals will not permit you to opt out, and that’s evil NO MATTER HOW WORTHY the cause.
