Not much of an actor but an excellent defensive tackle and color announcer. I think he was a Mormon also. He was from Utah.

RIP.

RIP. One of the true gentlemen of the game. Almost made me willing to root for the LA Lambs. Not quite, mind you, being a native of SF, Niner loyalty went a long way back in that day, but hey, if the Lambs were playing in Atlanta, then fine, mop the turf with the Birds and go Merlin!

Think he’s with the angels now because he was a very good man here, so far as I knew.

Good man. Never worked with asbestos and had mesothelioma? That is scary.

I really liked him on the short-lived “Aaron’s Way” where he played an Amish farmer who moved from Pennsylvania with his family. IIRC, his son abandoned the Amish lifestyle, moved to California, started a farm, got married, then died in an accident. Aaron (Olsen) took over the farm for his daughter-in-law who was also pregnant with his grandchild.

One of those “fish-out-of-water, clash of cultures” shows that didn’t last, but should have.

Sad day. I remember my brother had a signed football from his Rams days. We were so proud of our “Utah” son.

I think he felt that some of the sets he worked at had asbestos, work related illness.
