Actually those are suppose to represent the shear wave.

On the first link the right before the horizontal rolling I believe that is the P/wave.

The cross section of the second one is still a P-wave. Between the two, its a great representation. Whats interesting is that if you look at the webicorder in Utah, the event is still going on. those long slow waves represent a HUGE amount of energy, and its going somewhere! The plates are still moving. Its amazing to watch that.... They aren’t catching and stopping right now, which is why we still see that long series of waves. They are still moving, and in a real way thats a good thing, the energy is being released slowly instead of building up and releasing in a single shock.

I think this is why it will be considered an aftershock to the 8.0 last month, its all part of the same event, the plates are still moving.
