“How in the world can the people there exist with these continual quakes and the damage?”

For me, it’s emotional more than anything. With hurricanes, you can anticipate them, and make preparations...you’re also aware of what is happening. With the earthquakes here, I was woken up at 3am by the 8.8, felt various others since, and this recent quake hit while I was speaking with a client on the phone...it’s an invisible force that you can’t anticipate.

And I bet in all that emotion folks are Thanking God (being humorous) without thinking twice.
Whew Thank God the building did not crash down on that one...wonder if it will hold up in the next one...

whew Thank God that window I was standing next to did not explode into my body...hope I am not next to the next one that does...

Oh Dear Lord! (insert word/phrase).

Back to your buildings being up to code.
Do you know the history regarding EQ in short of your area.

As in was there a gigantic quake back in history that wiped out the buildings and then they were built back in code?

I keep thinking the year 1985 or 95?
Ack my brain log cant bring up anything.
