Pan, PHUSA is #1 this week in the NYTimes paperback bestseller list, #10 on USAToday. And no, I didn't buy 100,000 copies (LOL).
BTW, some MIT guys did a study of how purchases affect Amazon rankings, and they calculated that a) a single block purchase (of, say, 10,000) is treated like a single purchase; and b) you have to have a heckuva lot of purchases to move a book. No one knows for sure, but our publisher thinks that top 10 on Amazon is many hundred a day, possibly 1,000 a day; and #1 should be good for over 1,000 a day. PHUSA was #1 for over a week!
You'll have to do without my help for a few more weeks. I've got to finish The Lexus and the Olive Tree, then read Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover before the wife kills me. I've still got about 500 pages to go in Romance of the Three Kingdoms which has turned into a war of attrition. And yet I find myself reading my kid's Calvin and Hobbes instead. If I ever get out of my reading morass, which will probably require shutting the computer off for a few weeks, PHUSA is high on the list.
