I am not worried about pro-life position in party platform since 99% of voters will never read that document.
However PUSHING abortion agenda of either kind BY A CANDIDATE is a loser in general election. That is because pro-life people tend to vote republican anyway, and it will certainly turn off independents and centrist democrat voters.
I prefer a republican who can win, over an anti-abortion purist who will lose in the general election.
The problem with not removing it from the platform is that we have to judge all official GOP candidates by the GOP Party Platform, to change that then we need to remove that plank from the platform, should we do that?
