Now is the time to let Congress critters know our displeasure with the current income tax code on line if you can't make it to Washington D.C. on April 15th! Registration is free.

I'm with ya, however it shouldn't come to taxation before loss of personal freedom to government is considered concerning.

There's so much already lost by the time that point is reached.

I once thought that mass withholding of taxes would be the way to regain control of govt but last month the govt collected a bit over 100 billion and spent over 300 billion so if we withhold taxes and they take in maybe 30 billion won’t they still spend the 300 billion?

Those in DC are absolutely CLUELESS as to how close this Nation is to revolution. Absolutely clueless.

Hey look, people are bailing on their houses that they owe more than the place is worth, with Congress bailing them out and giving their tacit blessing.

Same logic these people could just say screw the government and stop paying their taxes. They’re being milked for a ton of money and what are they getting for it? Nothing. Just wealth transfer to people who didn’t earn it. Politicians who are not governing responsibly and just looking at people like wallets.

Closer than even we think. The folks are really ticked off with budget deficits on the State and Federal levels, due to liberal rot.

WE MUST PROSECUTE THESE BASTARDS WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, THEY MUST BE MADE EXAMPLES OF. This action against the American people is treason!

“For many Americans the distance between what they believe is best for the nation and what government actually does has become an infuriating chasm...”

IRS employees live in every neighborhood in America. Note where they live and act accordingly when they ask for extra bucks to support the fascist state in DC.

If obama care passes, taxes will be the least of our worries.

FAIR tax, yes.
FLAT tax, no.

Don't be silly. A 30% National Sales Tax would be an economic disaster.

One day, in the not so distant future, Americans may select "10" exemptions on their W-4. When that day happens (even if they don't have 10 exemptions), the federal government won't be able to pay interest on the debt. China, et. al. will force us into a form of "bankruptcy."

When you really think about it, it might be the only way we can save ourselves.

Don’t be silly Willie. The IRS and INCOME tax IS a disaster. Progressive taxation is a disaster.

Taxing consumption and keeping income private is good.

Inflation is the hidden tax most people never consider. It’s the devaluing of our money that is the worst tax.

At an overall tax burden of more than 53%(23% embedded corporate income taxes passed onto the consumer at each stage of production, the 7.65% payroll tax, the 7.65% employer matching and the 15% tax bracket most people fall into) the current income tax code is a disaster, has been for decades and will only get worse. I'd much rather have a 23%(tax inclusive)/30% (tax exclusive) Consumption tax than a 53% income tax any day.

Actually, it would be more like throwing your car into reverse when you're doing 75 mph forward.

But what the hell... if you're dumb enough to support a 30% Sales Tax, you're probably dumb enough to do that too.

Your “embedded tax” theory is B/S.

No business in their right minds would absorb the taxes levied on their income and the associated compliance costs. Those are all costs they incorporate into the price of everything we buy.
