A couple years ago, I got a tip about Eric Massa. It involved his aggrieved former campaign manager, Sanford Dickert, who was involved in an ugly dispute. Dickert claimed Massa had fired him and refused to pay him for work he'd done on Massa's unsuccessful 2006 run for Congress. Massa, he said, had retaliated by issuing a series of salacious charges against him, which Dickert denied, including that he had hired, and then given alcohol to, underage staffers, and also that he had made a pass at Massa's teenage son. This seemed like a personal dispute that didn't have much news value and was, furthermore, impossible for me to adjudicate. I didn't write about it. Dickert wound up filing a libel suit against Massa, and in the court documents, which you can read here, the strange and bizarre charges are all laid out.

According to Peter Clarke, a Navy shipmate, Massa was notorious for making unwanted advances toward subordinates. He tells the story of his friend Stuart Borsch, with whom Massa shared a hotel room while on leave during the first Gulf War.

Massa's behavior in the Navy was not unknown to some in Washington. Around the time of Massa's 2006 race, Clarke says he told Christopher Mansour, then chief of staff to Democratic Rep. Dale Kildee of Michigan, and now a senior official in the Interior Department, about Massa's history. Reached by phone yesterday, Monsour told me, "I just don't want to comment about this. I'd rather not be in this story at all." He added, "I've never met [Massa] or had direct interaction with him."
Massa announced on Friday that he would resign from Congress. That announcement came shortly after the House Ethics Committee had been notified of Massa's behavior in the Navy.

However I think Beck would have appreciated this before the interview.
I am surprised a journalist "sat" on this unless they were just waiting for the train wreck.
Speaking as a former military chick, folks need to take action IF someone behaves against the UCMJ. What troubles me, that folks say these things after the fact, but if it happened then they should have put it on the record.
Just a humble opinion that letting that dim-bulb-crat moron make an ass (er, dim-bulb-crat) of himself on one of the largest audience programs isn’t exactly that bad.
Beck apologizing was proper.
Overall, it’s another nail in the progressive coffin.
Oh, yeah. Homos in the military. What a great idea! </sarc
I knew that it would be just a matter of time before this came out.
Massa comes off like a repressed gay loon....But I would still like him if he had spilled the beans on the Glenn Beck show
Makes me wonder how much of don’t ask, don’t tell was actually ignore what’s going on in front of you.
Could a gay superior prey on subordinates?
So Massa like to torpedo his ship mates. I wonder if he ever swabbed the poop deck.
Look at “The Ballerina” Rahm Emanual, no reports about him. Look at Lindsey Graham and all the adoring press coverage he's gotten lately.
If Massa was a reliable Democrat, the MSM would still be covering up for him.

Great comment, agree totally!
Wait’ll you see what happens when President Ubanga lets sodomites serve openly in the military. JAG and other military prosecutors are going to need to build another Pentagon just to keep up with all the “hate crimes”.
I didn’t see Massa on Beck, but, from what I understand, it was a train wreck.
But this Atlantic article is by Joshua Green. I used to subscribe to the Atlantic. At one time, back when Michael Kelly was the editor, it was a decent magazine. Since he died in Iraq, the magazine has deteriorated, and, to my mind, Mr Green is one of the miscreants in its decline.
Green is wildly enthusiastic for all things Demoncratic. He was over the top for the Hildebeast and then easily transferred his affections to The One (who now occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue).
I now no longer subscribe to the Atlantic, partly due to the indisgestibility of Green’s articles.
I think that this article is little more than a hit piece on Massa (who undoubtedly deserves it) written at the behest of Green’s masters in the Demoncratic party.

And the mental image of nudie cutie Rahm yelling at people in the shower is a priceless gift. It could be the one thing that keeps him out of the illinois Senate race (there's lots of talk about him replacing the current Democrat, who's got lots of corrupt banking problems)
Why are the Dems so determined to out a groper, but Rangel gets to stay in the House? That should tell us all we need to know.
Massa lacks the resources to spill the beans. He's not rich or married to someone rich, and he doesn't have powerful friends. While I hoped he'd dish some dirt, I'm not too surprised that he didn't.
But Rahm...singin' in the shower...lol
Beck was the engineer, conductor, and brakeman of that train wreck.
It was clear he hadn’t done his homework, just booked Massa because he was saying bad things about Rambo and felt there would be a scoop on some big sensationalist story.
He booted the whole interview. Beck is entertaining when he’s mambling off his chalkboard and I think he’s sincere in his conservative convictions but he had no idea what to do with someone who thinks differently than he does. He proved he’s a horrible interviewer and yes, he wasted our time.
When he refused - how convenient that they suddenly found out about how immoral he is....just like them!!
They will tolerate any kind of misbehavior & indecency to get what they want!!
You gave an excellent comment, thank you. I agree Beck is lacking as an interviewer. I did watch, I appreciated Beck’s apology at the end.
I believe Beck spoke to him when Massa was angry after that radio show. Much of what he said had me interested on his perspective. Obviously after a cool down what he told Beck pre-interview did not pan out.
It was a learning process for Beck and his audience. I hope it wont preclude him from doing this again, he just needs to be better prepaired, imho.
