I hadn't heard the story about the scientist claiming that it wasn't true. Let's assume for the sake of argument that the scientist did say that. Why would Romney make that story up? It would be a gratuitous lie. That's weird and stupid; whatever his faults he's not stupid.

You're joking right? Are you reading our posts?

It was a very lame "conversion" story for a 59 year old pro abortion guy anyway, that had been a Priest, a Bishop, and a stake President, and a post roevWade, post Reagan, post abortion wars, Republican politician.

As far as a "gratuitous lie" being "weird and stupid"?
Seriously, are you reading our posts, the man is a compulsive liar that lies when their is nothing to even lie about, did you see post 80 for just a hint of his "weird and stupid" lies?

I hadn’t read your post...I’ve actually been working all day and have just been dabbling in it from time to time. It is a fairly lame conversion story, but it just doesn’t make sense to me to lie gratuitously. Even if one were predisposed to lie, why do it when you don’t have to, you know? I’m not talking about Romney per se, but anyone. Strange. I do like to see quotes however, because context and accuracy is important.
