I have no idea what the constitutional basis is for the Federal government mandating purchase of health insurance. Individual states may be on better ground, depending on their state constitution, but the US Constitution in no way allows for this.

Then again, what is the constitutional basis for mandating Social Security participation??

I got that letter and it left me scratching my head as to why it was sent. I don’t remember a similar pre-census letter last time. But 10 years is a looong time ago.

I’ve read about this. Sounds like more states are wanting to make laws against Obama’s takeover. Don’t know how that will workout.

Legal precedent? Don't know, not a sleezball... err... lawyer.

But consider: How much tax revenue is collected by the states on behalf of the FedGov? Take Fed Gas taxes for example. What if, the states decided to keep it? What's Zero gonna do, send in the National Guard?
