More stupid toys for the drones. I can't afford my healthcare, I can't afford my house payment, I can't afford my car payment, I can't afford my power bill....”Oh look honey there are the applications for that BestBuy no interest for 90 days credit plan...” More crap to entertain us to sleep, turn off the TV, read a book or go play a board game with your kid, stop losing yourself in the fantasy world of Heidi Montag and Avatar. I have 3 TVs, 2 are 20 years old and one I got off Craigslist for 300 bucks a 37 inch Dell LCD HDTV, which I watch maybe 5 hours a week. I am all for Big Government to track individual spending! You want that Medicaid Shaniqua..I see you bought that 3D Panasonic TV on December 17th, for $3750...hmm applicaiton denied. I love it when I drive through a poor neighborhood and see a 500 dollar car with $2000 in wheels and tires and a $800 stereo.

You’re making an assumption that those items were legally purchased.

I agree, but I am not so negative on people who can afford it and want it. I say power to them...it is the consumer desire that has driven the prices of consumer electronics down while driving capability up, and that has had spinoffs into a huge number of areas including both medical and military.
But, as you said, if someone cannot make payments to even a SINGLE creditor, no way should they be buying anything new unless it is clothes to replace worn ones or tires for a car.
I am appalled at some of the people that are trotted out by the media to show how evil the mortgage companies or health insurance companies are. These ‘victims’ have two new cars, live in a house way above their means, they have cable, Internet, top of the line cellphones or iPhones for everyone in the family including the six year old kid, and so on.
It bothers me, because there are plenty of people who really are hurting, and they trot out these.
That said, I don’t have a problem with people and their toys. If they can afford it and want it...they should buy it.

Very good points there. In 2000, I was delivering pizzas. I went through a local neighborhood of Section 8 housing and noticed the insides of some of the houses were beated up but the people inside had the (then) latest HDTV and/or large screen TV's, Playstation 2's, huge stereo systems and so on. Many had the latest cars too. Me, I drove a 1994 Ford Explorer and go home to watch a 1982 Zenith TV. Here it is in 2010, things are still the same, even so, I'm still driving the same 1994 Ford Explorer and watching the same 1982 Zenith. I work hard for my money and my good health plan and to stay alive, and now I deliver auto parts. Still, where have I gone wrong? B-P Seriously, I was brought up that living on the dole is wrong unless you cannot provide for yourself for a bona-fide medical reason.
