AUSTIN As Karl Rove makes the rounds this week with his memoir burnishing the Bush legacy, another book by another Texas Republican offers a decidedly different view.
Former state GOP chairman Tom Pauken, a Dallas lawyer and foot soldier in the Reagan revolution, offers a sober counterpoint to Rove's full-throated defense of his former boss.
In Pauken's view, the former president and "Bush's Brain" not only hijacked conservatism, they nearly destroyed it.

I did, too, and would again in a NY minute considering the circumstanses. He disappointed me witth some things but we also know he was blamed for things he didn’t do.
We are stuck with Carter lite...
Even Carter wasn’t as bad as Obo...at least he didn’t play as much in the muslim playground...and he certainly didn’t bow before them. That was so shameful but of coourse Bo is not acquainted with that term.
I propose that we drop the whole conservative bit and call ourselves REALISTS! It makes more sense and separates us from the other party which obviously has almost no connection to the real world.
>The republican party was a disaster for the republican party. Bush was just lousy frosting on a bad cake.<

Bush started the Iraq war under false pretenses.
Bush then forced the Republican party to support

I can readily agree with that but their rhetoric is seldom connected to reality. Obama and crew say such absurd things as that the “health care bill” will cut the deficit. It is as ridiculous as saying that leaving all doors and windows open will make it easier to heat your house in a blizzard.
They dare not tell the truth because they would never get to first base that way.
Exactly—it’s lying.
No, Zero has no shame. After all, puppets don’t think for themselves. Someone else is pulling his strings.
The media lied. Thank God for FR. Here at least we knew better.
I read back through all of it and thought, "What the hell are you doing Greg? 64 years old and playing still playing with children in the streets?"
So I apologize if I got you cockles up. I know mine did and when I get angry I don't come across very well.
Seriously now, have a great day!

Bush was a disaster for the Republican Party.
Bush was a disaster for our nation.
You have a good day, too. I’m sorry you were upset. Stuff like this doesn’t upset me...in fact, I like differences of opinion. I never learn from people who agree with me all the time...might as well be talking to myself.
