The US treasury department has eased sanctions on Iran, Cuba and Sudan to help further the use of web services and support opposition groups.
US technology firms will now be allowed to export online services such as instant messaging and social networks.
Companies had not offered such services for fear of violating sanctions.

This is fantastic news! One of President Bush’s greatest failures, even after he made public speeches supporting dissidents, he actively refused to change this policy, even as his Pioneer level contributors personally explained the need to change the policy so they could export VOIP/IM software to Iran.

Don’t know if you’ve read/seen the article linked in post #3. It lists some 49 U.S. and non-U.S. Companies doing business in and with Iran, $$/revenue involved, and their current status. (Nokia-Siemens included)
